Whether Meteb was given permission to play at the eleventh hour, whether Al Ahly retained the player's registration to allow him to play or whether there is some other explanation for the player's unexpected appearance remains to be seen. However, Gary Johnson is not a manager who takes kindly to player dissent and, if Meteb has gone against the Bristol City manager's wishes, it will be interesting to see Johnson's reaction.
